War dawned in 1912. Ottoman Empire sought to reclaim the Balkans. The Balkan League prevented this. Serbia grew in power as a result. The Balkan League's forces attacked a weakened Turkey in October 1912. Austria-Hungary feared the emergence of a much stronger Serbia. Serbia was now ready to attack Austria-Hungary. The great powers were not ready for full scale conflict. The Treaty of London in 1913 split up land in the Balkans. With the support of Austria-Hungary, Albania was created. The rest of the former Turkish lands were shared out among the members of the Balkan League. Serbia hates this. Consequences that arose due to the creation of Albania, were that Serbia's military had become large and experienced. Serbia felt that its pan-slavic ambitions had been stopped by Austria-Hungary with the creation of Albania. As a result there was an increase of terror attacks by the Black Hand. Worried, Austria-Hungary looked for an opportunity to cut Serbia down to size.
